For more than twenty years, Bret Blanchard has excelled in brand management and business development, specifically in the automotive and sports industries, with a focus on advertising, trademark licensing, sales development, client services and brand partnerships.
After graduating from Western Michigan University in 1997, where he earned dual bachelor degrees in Business Management and Criminal Justice, Blanchard began his career at Bozell Worldwide, a top Detroit based advertising agency, where he worked on high-profile accounts including Chrysler, Jeep, Detroit Red Wings and Little Caesars.
In 1999, Blanchard was appointed Account Executive at FCB Worldwide Detroit where he oversaw the Coleman Outdoor Company account and helped launch Coleman’s Centennial campaign which featured national print, television and radio advertising.
After two years in advertising, Blanchard continued to expand his brand marketing resume and in 2001 joined Equity Management Inc. (EMI), a leading corporate brand licensing agency. During his 17 year tenure at EMI, he excelled within the organization to become Senior Vice President and headed up the General Motors $3.0+ billion annual global licensed merchandise program. Blanchard and the EMI team successfully leveraged Chevrolet, Corvette, HUMMER, and other iconic automotive nameplate equities to further expand overall brand awareness, protect their valuable intellectual properties and positively impact consumers with exciting innovative products. In addition to managing the General Motors licensing program, Blanchard cherished the opportunity to expand the Rawlings Sporting Goods licensing portfolio highlighted by launching Rawlings first sports drink, the Rawlings All American Grill in Texas Rangers Ballpark along with apparel, eyewear, footwear and other baseball and sporting goods products.
In 2018, Blanchard departed EMI to further diversify his career and joined Sports Management Network (SMN), a leading sports marketing firm, where he served a Vice President of Strategic Brand Partnerships. During his two year tenure at SMN, he focused on securing new brand partnerships, licensing collaborations, charitable foundational work, personal endorsements and sponsorship opportunities for elite athletes and motorsports clients including racing icon Mario Andretti, Andretti Autosport IndyCar team, Team Penske and NASCAR Champion, Brad Keselowski and NASCAR superstar, Ryan Blaney.
In the few days since joining SKYBOX SPORTS NETWORK, Blanchard said “He and the team have already engaged in discussions with the hottest sports, betting and culture content providers, one of the largest restaurant brands, a leading fantasy sports brand along with the leading global sports data provider.
